Are you practicing “Safe AI”? You’ll need The REAL AI Guide for Real Estate Agents at Amazon.
Google flexes its AI muscle

There’s a quiet AI shift happening inside Google, and real estate agents should pay attention.
For the last two years, the AI race has been defined by Chatbots having a particular superpower. One is better at summarizing large data sets and documents (Claude). Another is better at image creation and editing (Gemini). You turn to another for the most current information (Perplexity), and if you want a sassy bot, there’s another one (Grok).
For the vast majority of real estate agents, ChatGPT Business has been the best and safest Swiss Army knife, but that is beginning to shift.
As of May 1, Gemini is now deeply entrenched inside Google Workspace.
Inside the Google fortress
Google says Gemini can now access your Gmail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and more to tap into nearly all your Google-stored content. They’ve added a Gemini “side panel” that can summarize, analyze and generate new content using insights from your emails, documents, and files without switching apps or tabs.
Welcome to the emergence of the Google AI ecosystem, one that arguably will reach more real estate agents than Microsoft or Apple.
For agents, that matters.
Instead of hunting through your Google Drive for “that one PDF,” you can ask Gemini to find the inspection report for the Smith listing and tell you whether the roof was flagged. It doesn’t just find the file. It reads it
Safer by design
Google is offering real estate agents more than convenience. It’s offering a safer AI workflow.
Every time you ‘Connect to Gmail’ with a trendy new AI tool, you’re poking a hole in your digital fortress. With Gemini, you aren’t ‘connecting’ anything: The AI is already inside the vault, protected by the same bank-grade security that keeps your inbox safe. Moreover, your content is not being used to train or improve Gemini or other generative AI models.
One caveat: ChatGPT is now the image chat
But here’s the candid reality check: Google cannot win every AI race. No single firm can.
Right now, ChatGPT has surged past Nano Banana 2 image tech in Gemini for image creation, image editing, and image manipulation. For creative work, especially original visuals, polished marketing images, or detailed edits, ChatGPT is now the stronger artist.
That’s important because real estate agents don’t need one business-grade AI tool. They need the right AI tool for the right task. It’s time for agents to start investing more in these safer, business-grade AI tools and not rely on a single solution.
The smartest agents won’t pick just one
The AI race changes fast. A tool that leads today may trail tomorrow. Gemini may be the smarter, safer business assistant inside your Google ecosystem, especially when you leverage NotebookLM.
But ChatGPT Business, for now and for most agents, remains your Swiss Army knife that now also delivers better image creation.
By having more than one general AI business tool, you’ll also have a solution if one bot is down for the day (the horror) if you train more than one to help you do your work.
The agents who win won’t be the ones looking for one perfect AI tool or bot. They’ll be the ones who invest in several paid, professional, business-grade AI tools and bots, and learn which one to use for each job, and know that they can change as fast as week-to-week.
Remember: If you’re paying $19.99 for 5TB of Google One to store your phone’s photos and videos, you already have Google AI Pro included. Check your Google Workspace or Google One settings. But also know that this is a consumer-grade product. You’ll need Gemini for Workspace (about $14 to $22 a month) and to add Gemini Business at $20 a month to have a business-grade product comparable to ChatGPT Business.
And in real estate, a safer second set of eyes is worth a lot more than another shiny app. (-Kevin)
