Inside Real Estate has unveiled HomeSearch AI, a new natural language and image-powered property search that redefines how consumers look for homes and how agents reengage their databases. The tool is part of the company’s BoldTrail platform and is powered by technology from ListAssist, which Inside Real Estate acquired earlier this year.

Howard Hanna and RE/MAX Advantage were the first brokerages to launch the platform through ListAssist before the acquisition. Both firms already dominate consumer search in their regions, and the addition of HomeSearch AI strengthens that position by delivering a search experience that feels conversational and intuitive.

Search that works like people talk

Instead of clicking through filters or drawing search maps, consumers can now type or speak naturally:

  • “Show me craftsman style homes in the Riverland neighborhood under $600k.”
  • “I want granite countertops, a single car garage, near coffee shops.”
  • “I’m looking for a single family home in Miami or Coral Gables, a contemporary kitchen with white countertops, a fireplace, outdoor living space, and pool.”

The AI understands intent, pulls from MLS data, and delivers accurate, relevant results. It also uses image recognition to identify property features, helping buyers move beyond rigid search forms.

“Once your clients use this kind of search, they’re not going to want to go back to checkboxes,” said Joe Skousen, CEO of Inside Real Estate. “And when it’s your brand delivering that experience? That’s a serious advantage.”

Smarter alerts and database reactivation

HomeSearch AI doesn’t stop at search. It also powers smart alerts that reengage dormant leads across a brokerage’s database. Every month, Inside Real Estate sends more than 160 million search alert emails; each optimized by years of testing. Now, those alerts become personalized property suggestions that revive old contacts and notify agents when someone is ready to engage.

Julia Laurin, Chief Product Officer, explained: “Every agent has leads sitting idle in their CRM. In BoldTrail we find those contacts, create property suggestions, and improve over time based on engagement. Instead of waiting for leads to circle back, BoldTrail brings them back.”

Early users are seeing five to ten times more engagement with leads, alongside more repeat traffic from consumers who prefer the conversational search.

Raising the bar for brokerage technology

For brokerages like Howard Hanna and RE/MAX Advantage, HomeSearch AI is more than an upgrade, it’s a competitive differentiator. Both companies already have a strong hold on consumer search traffic in their markets. With this launch, they now offer a search experience that rivals and in some cases surpasses national portals, all under their own brand.

“HomeSearch AI puts the power back in the hands of brokers, teams, and agents,” said Skousen. “It’s smart, scalable technology that adapts to each business strategy and elevates the consumer experience.”

Inside Real Estate has indicated that this is just the beginning, with additional innovations planned in the coming months.
