Want to have some fun?

Ever have the experience where a customer registers to your website using foul or misleading information ie – Bill Clinton, etc.

Well, as it turns out, if you view the details of the header of the e-mail that gets sent to you from your website, you will be able to see the IP address of the sender.

Today a client received a bogus lead from their website (this particular web tester choose to use foul language in place of a phony name).  In looking up the IP address of the sender, we learned that it was from a competitor.  There are lots of sites that provide IP address lookup, but I like the name “Piece of Cake” so I will promote them in the link below

So, the lesson here for real estate brokers, agents, and general business owners is to train your staff about reverse IP address lookup – as whenever you are working on a corporate network, the owner of the website you are on knows where you are – and who you are.

Thanks to the fine realtors at Vision Real Estate and Pacific Union for this fine example.
