WAV Group Week in ReviewArizona Association of REALTORS® refocuses its attention on ARBI – Arizona REALTOR® Business Interface which puts MLS, Document Management and a bunch of resources all on one page. The AZMLS Statewide MLS has found new life. No acquisition of ARMLS for now, but MLS partners are aligning to get it done. Perhaps ARMLS will simply move from first to “maybe a little later on.”

WAV Group released a new whitepaper in an ongoing series about the Shift in Real Estate for brokers and agents. In the first paper released in June, we looked at the shift happening in enterprise broker software. Last week, we published a new paper that examines the keys to technology adoption. Building and offering great software is the easy – driving adoption is the hard part. Take a look if you missed either of those, for a complete list of WAV Group Whitepapers, browse this page. There is another paper in the works for October, so stay tuned. If you have an idea for WAV Group research, call or write Marilyn Wilson, Mike Audet, or Victor Lund to discuss it.

WAV Group on Facebook: WAV Group partners have maintained individual accounts for connecting with industry friends and customers – we figured that we should ease into the social media age with a company page. If you dig Facebook and would like to see WAV Group blog posts in your Facebook stream, Like this page.

The Dot MLS folks are getting ever closer to their dream of launching domain names with a .MLS extension. In the meantime, .XXX sunrise registration opens in October. Some brands are purchasing their brand names on .XXX as a way of protecting them from being purchased by someone else. You can imagine that MichaelSaunders.xxx could be abused.

CMLS pre-registration for November 10th Symposium. That is the day before NAR. The last event in Washington DC was oversold – so watch for it. If you are in the MLS business – it would be a mistake to miss this. Be sure to schedule your travel accordingly.

NYS signs electronic signature law. This leaves only Illinois and Washington States as hold outs to adopting the Federal eSign law. NYS was specific, and wrote the law to allow for the conveyance of real property using electronic signatures. This puts an end to the friendly debate between the New York State Association of REALTORS® and DocuSign. Illinois and Washington both have laws on the books which state that an electronic signature cannot be the grounds for nullifying a contract – different tactic than other states. Suffice it to say that it is GAME ON with eSignatures. Catchy slogan: Save a tree and your time, put down that pin and eSign!

Miami REALTORS launched Moby. This is an app for a smartphone that helps keep REALTORS safe. The Moby team is swarming across the country, seemingly signing up every Association in America – great news for keeping agents safe in the field.

Virginia Association of REALTORS and Roost announced that Roost Social Marketing Platform was selected as it featured tool for helping its 29,000 members go social. We have not heard a lot from Roost since they adjusted their business model away from property search and toward Social Media. Roost has a great leader in Alex Chang – great to see them building the new model with a big customer win.

Redfin launched an agent scouting report –  shows listings, sold listings, average days on market before sale. Check it out. A bunch of MLSs checked it out and looked at the data and its accuracy. As it turns out, Redfin may have been misrepresenting some of the data according to MLS interpretation – namely, not associating sold listings with agents when they switch brokerages. Moreover – what Redfin is doing with MLS data is not the intent of data use according to many MLS. Should be an interesting debate.

Russ Bergeron membership drive Image MRED started off the RESO Organization membership drive with a check for $15,000 during the RESO meetings in Chicago this week. A shout out to the Buffalo Bills who are one of three undefeated teams in the NFL at 3-0. As you may know, WAV Group has offices in the Western New York area. One of our friends, Peter Hunt of Hunt Real Estate has an exclusive real estate agreement at the Brokerage of Choice for real estate. Aside from handling Bills player and staff relocation service, Hunt Real Estate has exclusive access to co-branding, radio show, and in stadium marketing program.

RE Technology announced Success Tracker™ in partnership with MRIS. This solution allows MLSs to track visits to storefronts where REALTORS® purchase technology products. In the case of RE Technology, it measures traffic to the Success Store™.
