Kevin Costner starred in the classic film Field of Dreams. He received a mysterious voice one night saying “If you build it, they will come.” Despite the taunting, he builds a baseball diamond on his Iowa farmland and players started emerging from his cornfield to play ball.

In many ways, that is the story of Florida Realtors building Tech Helpline. Twenty years ago, they imagined a friendly helpline service for Realtors staffed by folks that understand more than computers, they understand real estate systems. Tech Helpline announced a milestone that they now provide services to 725,000 members nationwide.

You must know that 725,000 is a huge number. I am not certain, but I believe that only CoreLogic can claim to provide technology to that number of Realtors (I have seen them quote 800,000). So by my accounting, Florida Realtors Tech Helpline is close to becoming the most used technology service provider to Realtors in North America (They are pretty big in Canada, too). Realtors Property Resource is in the hunt somewhere too, I just do not know exactly where.

Florida Realtors recently added the following organizations for helping them eclipse this milestone: CCIM Institute (7,923 members), Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors (1654 members), Heartland Realtor Organization (1,371 members, and Three Rivers Association of Realtors (962 members), both in Illinois. These Realtor organizations’ members will receive free, unlimited access to all tech support services that Tech Helpline offers as a standard member benefit.

Last month, Tech Helpline’s experts debuted its new mobile app for Apple and Android platforms to allow agents to quickly connect to an advisor while on the go. Advisors deliver support for an enormous range of software and hardware issues in both English and Spanish. They help fix WiFi issues, printer issues, bluetooth headphones, recover files, remove viruses, computer crashes, add a new email to your phone, and so much more. It’s been dubbed the genius bar for real estate.

Mary Grant, Florida Realtors CEO sums it up the best, “Tech Helpline makes every agent feel welcomed because our experts work closely with agents and brokers every day. They understand the business and deadline pressure and excel in taking the fear out of calling tech support.”
