Huntsville has become one of the fastest growing and most economically dynamic regions in the United States. The population has surged nearly 16 percent since 2020, propelled by major expansion in defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and technology. Redstone Arsenal supports more than 90,000 federal and civilian jobs. U.S. Space Command continues to attract high-value talent from across the nation. The broader Huntsville economy has generated 7.5 to 10 percent annual GDP growth over the past two years. Nearly 4 million annual visitors contribute to a $2.4 billion tourism impact, and homeowners benefit from one of the lowest effective property tax rates in the country.

The region is thriving by every measure, making this a powerful moment for a new executive to help HAAR expand its influence and deepen its value to members.

HAAR is looking for an executive with both strategic strengths and exceptional relationship instincts. The next AE will champion innovation, advocate for REALTORS®, and raise HAAR’s profile throughout Alabama and the nation. At the same time, this leader must be doggedly committed to building collaborative, trust-based relationships with the Board of Directors, broker-owners, REALTORS®, past presidents, staff, community partners, and fellow associations.

The ideal candidate understands that progress only sticks when it is built on trust. HAAR is seeking someone who listens deeply, leads transparently, and engages members with authenticity. Someone who respects HAAR’s strong foundation while pushing the organization to think boldly about the future.

The incoming AE will guide HAAR’s daily operations while positioning the organization for continued relevance and long-term impact. Key priorities include:

  • Energizing HAAR’s mission through thoughtful implementation of strategic goals
  • Inspiring a culture of excellence, responsiveness, and continual improvement
  • Deepening member trust through consistent engagement and accessible leadership
  • Elevating HAAR’s education platform and scope to meet emerging market and consumer needs
  • Managing a $5.6 million budget with transparency and discipline
  • Diversifying revenue sources to strengthen financial stability beyond dues
  • Leading advocacy that protects property rights and reinforces REALTORS® as respected community and economic leaders
  • Ensuring HAAR maintains a strong, respected presence within Alabama REALTORS® and NAR

The AE will help navigate a rapidly shifting real estate environment and ensure HAAR remains a beacon of professionalism, service, and leadership.
