The National Association of REALTORS® put forth a great concept for REALTOR® Associations to launch in their local markets called Open House Weekends™. The idea is born around cooperation between advertising companies and local Associations to pull together an open house blitz.

The Realtors® of the Palm Beaches & Greater Fort Lauderdale (RAPB + GFLR) are hosting an Open House Weekend this weekend. This is not their first. They initially launched the program in the first quarter of the year drawing 1200 open houses. The second quarter saw some reasonable growth to 1500. Having adjusted the communications of the program and developing some supportive partnerships, they are expecting 6000 total listings to be held open as part of this event by the end of the year.

In developing this center of excellence, RAPB + GFLR secured sponsorships from Realtor.com, D.R. Horton, and ShowingTime along with discounted rates in newspapers like the Sun-Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, and the TC Palm. Realtors® can also pick up special balloons, customized profile picture frames for Facebook, share flyers, banners, and other digital marketing graphic.

A website for the event was developed by BuyingBuddy, an IDX and CRM partner of RAPB + GFLR under the domain name at https://www.openhousesfl.com

The website draws consumers into open house search and allows them to search the IDX database for all open houses listed in the area a consumer is interested in.

What we really like about this effort is that it centers the entire industry around a singular consumer focus that rally’s everyone together. I am sure that all of the consumers in the market area – regardless of real estate activity – will see the energy this weekend with open house markers all over the place and surround sound coverage in newspapers and online sites. It is great community builder. Nice Job!
