Overall Goal of the Position
To cultivate a passionate, engaged, and well-educated membership that understands, appreciates, and loyally supports the Association. The CEO will champion education, advocacy, engagement, and leadership development, fostering a strong professional culture that empowers REALTORS® to build lifelong client relationships in a thriving real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities & Leadership Qualities
Member Service & Experience
- Creates a member-centric culture focused on outstanding service, seamless application and billing processes, and consistent engagement.
- Constantly improves programs and operations to ensure the Association and Hive MLS remain indispensable to members.
- Identifies opportunities to surprise and delight members with new offerings, technology, and educational experiences.
- Integrates AI and emerging technologies to streamline operations and personalize member experiences.
Strategic Communication
- Effectively communicates the value proposition of the Association to busy real estate professionals.
- Promotes clear, concise, and consistent messaging through multiple channels and in collaboration with leadership.
Financial Stewardship
- Demonstrates strong financial management skills, ensuring profitability and fiscal health.
- Develops transparent financial reporting that builds confidence among leadership and eliminates unnecessary re-approvals of budgeted expenses.
- Advocates for diversified, non-dues revenue streams to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Leadership Development & Governance
- Recruits and mentors emerging leaders for committees, board service, and officer roles.

Education & Professional Development

Association Marketing and Events
- Plans and executes all major Association meetings and member-facing events.
- Drives home the specific and impactful ways MCRAR delivers tangible value to help agents and brokers be more successful
- Outlines and executes a comprehensive marketing plan to effectively promote education, events, RPAC, advocacy wins/asks and partners with Hive MLS to promote new technologies/enhancements, tech training and MLS policy changes.
- Serves as spokesperson in coordination with Association officers.
- Builds strong relationships with local media to share market updates, industry news and consumer success stories
Advocacy & Community Relations
- Engages with local officials and policymakers to protect property rights and promote a healthy real estate environment.
- Trains and positions REALTORS® as community leaders and housing advocates.
- Participates in local development initiatives that support homeownership and rental housing.
Relationship Building
- Maintains strong, trust-based relationships with brokers, top producers, affiliates, and educators.
- Listens closely to member needs and collaborates with staff to develop timely, relevant solutions.
- Establishes and nurtures peer networks with Association Executives across the country and actively participates in state and national forums, PAGS and workgroups.
Organizational Agility & Risk Preparedness
- Proactively identifies necessary policy, bylaws, and governance changes to ensure the organization remains nimble, responsive, and effective.
- Partners with leadership to evaluate potential risks and develop readiness strategies.

MLS & Technology Integration

- Proactively reaches out to AE peers to create opportunities for further Hive MLS expansion

Specific Responsibilities:
Governance & Board Relations
- Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and keeps leadership fully informed of key operations, risks, and opportunities.
- Maintains official minutes for Board, committee, and Association meetings, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely distribution.
- Serves as an ex officio, non-voting member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Committee & Volunteer Support
- Provides staff support and guidance to committee chairs to ensure productive meetings and outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
- Ensures committee recommendations are submitted to the Board for timely review and action.
Membership Operations
- Oversees dues billing and enforces membership policies regarding delinquency and termination in accordance with Association Bylaws.
- Leads initiatives for membership promotion, onboarding, and retention and evaluates progress regularly.
Association Events & Communications
- Plans and executes all major Association meetings and member-facing events.
- Serves as spokesperson in coordination with Association officers.
Compliance & Records Management
- Ensures timely compliance with NAR’s Core Standards requirements.
- Oversees the protection, security, and appropriate retention of all Association files, legal records, and member databases.
