MFRMLS logoWhen WAV Group was learning about Immobel’s multi-language IDX search strategy earlier this year, Janet Choynowski taught us a valuable lesson. Supporting multiple languages is less about making information legible and more about demonstrating your respect for a person’s culture and heritage. It had a profound impact on us.

With this notion couched in our minds, we took note when My Florida Regional MLS announced the launch of CoreLogic Data Co-op to their members, and offered two training classes in Spanish. (http://www.mfrmls.com/member-benefits/mlxchange-benefits/data-co-op).

WAV Group suspects that there are a number of MLSs across the country who have significant populations of Hispanic subscribers. It is certainly true in California, Arizona, Texas and Florida. 16% of Americans are Hispanic or of Hispanic decent in America today according to the US Census. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html Florida runs at a rate of 22% Hispanic.

If you are a technology service provider – MLS or Vendor – you may want to take the guidance from MFRMLS to heart. I am pretty confident that their high customer satisfaction scores are in part derived from sensitivities like this.

Great job Merri Jo Cowen and the My Florida Regional MLS team! Again, you are setting a new pace in MLS service.
