In a press release today, the North Texas Regional Multiple Listing Service announced that they have a new regional MLS partner in Northwest Louisiana Association. The Northwest Louisiana market area serves about 1000 Realtors located in and around the Shreveport, LA region and borders both Texas and Arkansas state lines.

From a strategic perspective, this is another example of regional MLSs broadening their perspective beyond state boundaries, a growth strategy that may have been born by Bright MLS (during the MRIS days). For years there has been talk of a national MLS – an idea that has little merit in my opinion. But I do see a future in America where massive regional MLSs come together to serve huge chunks of markets and serve over 100,000 agents.

Congratulations to NTREIS and Northwest Louisiana AOR!

NTREIS Welcomes the Northwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS® as it Expands

NTREIS, a regional MLS that currently serves 42,000 subscribers in the North Texas Region and beyond, welcomes the subscribers in Northwest Louisiana as the NWLAR becomes the newest Shareholder in NTREIS. Brokers and agents in the Shreveport/Bossier City area will now have access to the vast database of listings and the numerous product offerings of the NTREIS system and current NTREIS subscribers, particularly those in the East Texas regions now have easy access to listings across State boundaries for those Brokers that hold licenses in both States.

“As the workforce grows more mobile, market areas will continue to expand and geographic boundaries should not hinder that growth” says Johnny Mowad, 2020 President of NTREIS.

The Northwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS (NWLAR) has continually strived to provide the best services available in this ever-changing environment” says Theresa Miller, 2020 President of NWLAR. “Looking toward the future and growth of our Association has always been our goal and this partnership with NTREIS offers our members a great opportunity.”

With NWLAR, there are 15 diverse REALTOR Association Shareholders in the NTREIS family. The regional MLS contracts with vendors for services and wholesales to the Shareholders who provide direct services to their membership.

John Holley, CEO of NTREIS added, “Our decentralized model is attractive to Associations that wish to provide a high level of REALTOR services to their membership but have another entity to do the heavy lifting of the technology and data services of a multiple listing service.”

Scott Hughes, CEO of NWLAR, stated “As our organization viewed various options for our MLS, we recognized that the similarities in our markets our current product offerings and our common approach to business made this venture the best option for our Participants and Subscribers.”

With the new shareholder agreement in place, both entities will now work towards merging the NWLAR data and services into NTREIS over the next several weeks.
