POSITION TITLE: Product Manager

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION:

Courthouse Retrieval System(CRS) http://www.crsdata.net, located in Knoxville, TN,  is one of the leading providers of public records information in the United States today. Their PowerTools solutions are made of custom searches, property tax records, interactive maps, sales and mortgage info, real estate valuations, mailing lists, and more. CRS boasts a large and loyal user base made up of leading multiple listing services, large brokerages, appraisers, small business owners and several other audiences. The company has a loyal following because of the quality of its products and customer service and support.  CRS is seeking a Product Manager, with knowledge of the real estate and/or banking industry, to work from the company’s Knoxville location, who will oversee development of the requirements and ongoing enhancements for each of the CRS products and also identify new areas for product development.

PRODUCT OFFERINGS:

Investor Power Tool: The Investor PowerTool helps real estate investors find real estate investment opportunities first, using their own unique approach. Its powerful tools help investors analyze and evaluate properties thoroughly. The Investor PowerTool also allows users to create mailing labels and merged letters to contact potential sellers and buyers.

Appraiser Power Tool: The Appraiser PowerTool saves appraisers time and money when they appraise a property. Its comprehensive search lets them find the perfect comparables from both listings and FSBOs. Its many tools in a single product help appraisers efficiently evaluate subject properties and comps.

Commercial Power Tool: The Commercial PowerTool gives commercial agents access to every commercial property in their area and provides the information they need to find the perfect property and evaluate any property.

Mortgage Power Tool: The Mortgage PowerTool by Courthouse Retrieval System is a simple tool that provides mortgage originators with powerful information such as: current and past mortgages, sales history, building characteristics, and precise comps.

MLS Compliance Power Tool: The MLS Compliance PowerTool checks all active real estate listings available in the multiple listing service and generates easy to read reports on any non-compliant activity.

Lender Market Share Report: The Lender Market Share Report gives you a critical, currrent and historic snapshot of the entire lending market.

JOB FUNCTION: The Product Manager will oversee development of the requirements for new and existing CRS products.  He/she will be responsible for gathering customer insights and then reflecting their needs and product feedback into the requirements for each software product. The product manager will also be responsible for closely monitoring competition and providing consistent input to product development to continually improve the functionality, usability and look and feel of each of the CRS products.

The goal of the product manager is to help the company continually increase sales by helping to maintain the current customer base as well as expanding the universe of users for current and new products.  The ideal candidate will also be successful at helping to increase the average order size for each customer by successfully outlining add-on products, product bundles and upsell paths.

The Product Manager is responsible for driving the success of the strategic product priorities of the organization as outlined by the strategic plan and subsequent product prioritization efforts. They are also responsible for contributing to the financial health of the organization, closely managing customer satisfaction trends and working together with product development to drive down product development costs.  They are also responsible for working collaboratively with product development, sales, marketing and customer service to lead the effort to build products that meet the needs of customers and help increase their loyalty to Courthouse Retrieval System.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Product Manager is responsible for and has commensurate authority to accomplish the duties set forth below.

 

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

o   Develop the product roadmap based on customer input, strategic plan outcomes and product prioritization efforts

o   Develop detailed customer requirements document for each product line.  The requirements document will include use case scenarios, product usability outline, and appropriate screen shots

o   Work closely with product development to turn customer requirements document into a product development specification to be used for development and QA testing

o   The ideal candidate will have a strong visual sense and the ability to manage the graphic development and interface for the product

 

CUSTOMER INPUT

o   Consistently solicit customer input from current customers and potential new customer segments. The input will be gathered by reviewing help desk reports from the CRM system.

o   Coordinate execution of customer satisfaction surveys, focus groups and exploratory interviews with third party research consultants

o   Expand role and frequency of input gathered from user group

o   Responsible for recommending improved/enhanced product features and functionality and becoming THE customer advocate in the product development process

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

o   Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls schedules for executing customer input sessions and outlining market requirements documents

o   Works closely with product development project management lead to ensure products are built on time and within budget.

 

REQUIREMENTS/JOB SKILLS: College degree as well as significant software product management experience, ideally in the real estate and or banking industry. Must possess demonstrated abilities to work collaboratively with colleagues in a variety of departments.  The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with the technical team as well as the sales, marketing and customer service teams.  They will have proven skills in leading teams and effectively representing the needs of customers internally while balancing the needs of customers with the needs of the company.

The successful candidate will have strong graphic design skills and will be able to set a visual direction for the family of products offered by CRS.  Their demonstrated skills will be applicable to both software development as well as the website and web interfaces for CRS products.  Must possess mature judgment, confidentiality, strong presentation and negotiation skills and a high degree of personal organization and initiative.

COMPENSATION: Competitive package based on experience.
