Cloud CMA Resets UI To Drive Usability and Growth

WAV Group has known the founders of W+R Studios long before they broke away from eNeighborhoods and founded the company. The partners have invested their lives and careers in developing real estate software that makes a difference. Cloud CMA was their first product, mobile friendly, easy to use, beautiful CMA reports. They launched at a time when building a CMA on your phone or tablet was impossible. They took a mobile first approach and were able to drive market adoption with impressive speed.

How Do the Top 20 Sites Manage Digital Search Advertising?

At WAV Group, we like to look under the hood at what the top property search sites in America are doing to engage consumers and boost performance. In some cases, we work with the site owner and have access to their analytics (ie Google Analytics or other). In other cases, we use benchmarking tools like Hitwise and ComScore to get a glimpse into what these top performers may be doing. The results are interesting.

Stop Speaking Geek

If you have traveled abroad, you have undoubtedly experienced the discomfort of communicating in a foreign language. I can tell you that in hotel speak, a salon is not a suite. The language barrier can create all kinds of misunderstandings. Where I see this happening frequently in real estate is the amount of geek speak that is in the board room.

When Your Product Is Your Brand

I look at technology products every day. I do not want to lay any hate on any particular company.  But, I have observed a number of company brands who offer real estate technology that have not differentiated the company name from the product name. For clarity, Apple is a company brand, iPhone is a product, and X is a product version. Kleenex is an example of a company brand name and product name that are the same.

You Can Beat the National Portals With This Strategy Today

Imagine a world where every real estate agent, broker and franchise in the nation promoted their real estate mobile app to consumers. The app is white-label branded to the agent, broker, and franchise offering direct access to every MLS listing without any competitive ads. That is the way it would need to work. Guess what, we have it. You have it. Our industry has it. Today.

Homes Nails New Website Design

Homes.com has been running in 4th position in the portal race, tucked in behind Zillow, Realtor, and Trulia. I thought that their old site was fine, but their new site adds in Artificial Intelligence in ways that make the consumer experience fantastic. In a world of sameness, Homes has changed the game.

REALTOR Associations and Government

More than any other time in my 20-year career in real estate, I am seeing significant unrest in the relations between the various tiers of the REALTOR Associations. The struggle for power is real, and the center of that struggle is technology. As we head to midyear, we are expecting to see the sparks fly.

Zillow Group Continues Tradition of Showing Consumers FSBO, Other Non-MLS Listings

Since its early days, Zillow Group has maintained a position that the consumer interest is best served by allowing listings from all sources, including For Sale By Owner, to be posted to their site. This may be, in part, why Zillow sites had up to 187 Million unique users visit their sites last year.  Recently, WAV Group has noticed a new type of broker support that is in line with this policy.

MFRMLS Removes Non-Standard Data in Native MLS

Very few people understand the difference between the data that is in the Native database of an MLS and the data that is shipped out of an MLS. The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) has created a Data Dictionary of fields and field enumerations for data being shared with brokers and technology providers. The Native data in the MLS – the data that the broker’s agent enters into the MLS system is custom to every MLS. Not anymore! My Florida Regional MLS (MFRMLS) is among the first MLSs in the country to adopt the same RESO language in their Native MLS. Here’s why this is important.
