By |2018-02-02T10:21:56-08:00February 2nd, 2018|IDX, MLS Insights, NAR, RESO|Comments Off on NAR Gets Serious About RESO Compliance

The National Association of REALTORS® Chief Executive Officer, Bob Goldberg has been making some impressive moves this week. The first move is to send threatening letters to about 90 MLSs who have not adopted the RESO Standards or are not adhering to the MLS Policy required to maintain NAR affiliation.  Some of the MLSs are being cited for not being certified with the RESO Data Dictionary and some do not yet have availability with the RESO Web API. While many MLSs still believe that RESO is not critical to their business, we hear from brokers regularly that they are requesting [...]

RESO: Fairy Tale or the Future?

By |2018-01-08T12:00:38-08:00January 8th, 2018|Main category|1 Comment

There aren’t many technology companies that would PREFER to map nearly 700 individual MLS data sets if they have the data and a choice. The Real Estate Standards Organization has set out on a path to remove millions of dollars in cost to real estate technology development and deployment while encouraging more innovation.   Download the results of the study here: When you get past the obvious technical advantages what does it really MEAN to have data [...]

Key Takeaways The move for MLSs to transition to ONLY RESO-compliant IDX feeds is not that difficult. Real Estate Standards Organization, or RESO, recently showed how massive volunteerism is in real estate. It often goes unnoticed, under the radar. But at its sold-out Spring Summit in Austin, Jeremy Crawford, CEO of RESO, took to the stage and invested time to honor more than two-dozen people in our industry. Jeremy recognized each of them for their outstanding personal contributions with a 2017 Spring Tech Summit Award. What’s amazing to think about is that collectively, these individuals contributed literally thousands of annual volunteer hours to RESO. They spent time volunteering for the seven RESO Workgroups – and one key committee – all [...]
