In the early days of listing syndication, WAV Group investigated the terms of use on third party advertising websites like Zillow.com®, Trulia.com® and others. MLS Terms of Use Changes and Copyright FAQ

By |2018-03-27T06:00:37-07:00March 27th, 2018|Broker-Agent Information|0 Comments

This post is the result of a collaborative effort amongst the Council of Multiple Listing Services, The Realty Alliance, The National Association of REALTORS®, and Larson Skinner PLLC.  Many MLSs have been making changes to the way they file copyright applications and their MLS terms of use. This FAQ is intended to answer some of those questions and emphasize that the MLSs are not forcing participants or subscribers to give up ownership of listing content.

We told you about “The Confident House Hunter: A Home Inspector’s Tips for Finding Your Perfect House” by America’s new favorite home inspector Dylan Chalk just before it hit the bookstores and Amazon last year. Well, Dylan just won the Silver Award at the 11th Annual Robert Bruss Real Estate Book Awards, held during the National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) conference in Denver last week. Portland is the site for the Connections 2009 conference, welcoming a select group of real estate dignitaries to discuss the evolution of our industry and the painful realities that hold us back. I will be speaking briefly to the lawyers who write the pages of rules that govern order in the vast lands of MLS - I applaud their work. Sharing - the cornerstone of web 2.0 - is the terrorist threat to protecting MLS data from misuse, and I found some rather interesting mis-uses of data on the web that illustrate the challenges facing rules and rules enforcement.Although I do [...]

In many ways, these regulations impact the same policies and procedures of the brokerage. The include website terms of use, privacy policy, vendor agreements, cookie notices, agent policies, staff policies, notices, training, and a plan on how to enable the right for consumers to be forgotten by all of systems.
