The National Association of REALTORS research experts continuously share housing data with insights that sometimes surprises or delights. Their recent look into Gen Xers did both – for me at least. There is nothing more important in real estate than the listing presentation. It is the single most place where you position yourself as the prize, not the contestant. If you want to convert new clients predictably and sustainably, the listing presentation is the first place to start.
Three-quarters of the year of conferences and workshops have passed, and a common theme – out of many – has appeared. The industry’s dive into the consumers journey in real estate is the epicenter of today’s evolving business models. How these business models deliver a unique consumer experience through the marketing technology stack (MarTech), requires that they solve the fragmented systems of consumer data and find consumers who only engage when addressed with the right message, at the right time, and within the right medium or channel.
When it comes to social media marketing, I tend to watch the strategies of teenagers more than real estate social media gurus. The gurus are great at what they do, training agents and firms on how to run successful campaigns and build authentic audiences. But the kids are where innovation comes from.

Twitter for real estate is a curious strategy. There was quite a bit of discussion about Twitter in some of the Facebook groups that I am in. #thatsfunny. In all seriousness, when WAV Group evaluates the effectiveness of social media marketing and advertising (those are two different things), the numbers prove out that Facebook is far more effective in every matrix of reporting.
